Cyber Knights are a series of female monsters, based on cybernetic warriors in different coloured suits of hi-tech armor. While the original card was used June Pearl and April Hikari, it wasn't until 5DS that Cyber Knights became an actual Archtype, used by Cyan Shinju.

The names of the Cyber Knights are usually 'Cyber Knight' and an adjective or another monster. However, the design of the Cyber Knights is directly traced/ripped off from the protagonists of Bubblegum Crisis, specifically their armored forms. This WILL be corrected. But not soon.

Playing Style

Before the Erratas and their resultant redesigns and reprints in XYZ Charge, Cyber Knight focused on beatdown with overpowered effects: attacking opponents directly, destroying cards, protecting fellow Cyber Knights, etc.

The original Cyber Knight could attack directly for 2000 ATK and destroying opposing monsters by battle dealt Effect Damge to the opponent via the destroyed Monster's DEF. Dash, aside from being a better Speed Warrior, could summon Ella straight from the deck if you also had the original Cyber knight on the field, and Ella herself forced opponents to attack her and gained ATK for each Cyber Knight on the field. Cyber Knight Petit Angel could Special Summon either a Level 3 monster or a Cyber Knight monster in either position from your graveyard by it's Normal Summon, plus it was a Tuner, meaning it could be splashed into any deck.

Their strongest cards were their Extra Deck cards, with Hope wiping the opponents backrow and dealing Direct Damage from the ATK of the Monsters it destroyed by battle, and Ella'Dash gaining the sum total attack of all Level 3 Monsters you control, of which Cyber Knights had both in spades.

However, the Erratas were not kind to the Cyber Knights, even without the elephant in the room.

While the original Cyber Knight suffered only said elephant, Dash now summoned Ella from the deck in Defense Position, despite now needing any Cyber Knight instead of the original, and using her effect now cut her ATK in half once the Battle Phase was over and until your next Draw Phase. Ella herself gained once-per-turn battle destruction protection, but only in Attack Position, and the fact that Dash summoned her in Defense Position meant that her aggro draw effect worked against her now if she was summoned that way. Cyber Knight Petit Angel could now only summon a Level 3 Cyber Knight Monster from the Graveyard in ATK Position, and if it was used as Synchro Material for a non-Cyber Knight Synchro, it dropped the ATK of the Synchro Monster it made by 500: this killed it's splashabilty. Even worse, were the Extra Deck Monsters: Hope now blew up your backrow as well, along with dealing Effect Damage instead of Direct Damage to the original controller of the destroyed monster, and most importantly, stayed on the Forrbidden List. Meanwhile, Ella'Dash now only gained HALF of the total sum of the Level 3 monsters on your field, but she did gain a once-per-turn battle destruction protection that worked in both positions.

The afformented elephant in the room: All six of the original Cyber Knight Monsters, along with their future additions, gained a Archetype wide effect: "If this monster is destroyed by battle, treat it's ATK and DEF as 0 during Damage Calculation." This meant if the opponent had the bigger beatstick, the Cyber Knights would not protect you from the backlash. Worse, they had no protection from monster effects, spells or traps. This dropped the Cyber Knights from Tier 1 to Tier 4.

Thankfully, their new support would help fix some of their issues.
